FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Swimming team battled Mary Washington in a 148-114 loss on Saturday afternoon, the team's first setback of the season.
Sophomore Nate Canapp had an outstanding meet, setting three program records on his way to winning the 1,500-meter freestyle (16:59.77), 400 free (4:19.25), and 400-meter IM (4:49.50). Junior Noah Loper also had a multi-win day, earning victories in the 100- and 200-free with times of 54.44 and 1:59.08, respectively.
Freshman Julian Najarro Sedar picked up a win in the 50-free (24.35) and came second in the 100-meter butterfly (1:00.40), while freshman Alex Whitton and junior Justin Geiszler helped Canapp to a 1-2-3 finish in the 1,500 free with times of 18:18.59 and 18:21.18, respectively.
With the loss, FSU falls to 2-1 on the season, while UMW improves to 5-2. The Bobcats are back in action on Friday, December 1 for a two-day meet at the Randolph-Macon Invitational in Virginia. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
