BUCKHANNON, W.Va. - The Frostburg State Men's Soccer team traveled to take on West Virginia Wesleyan for a Wednesday afternoon match, falling 5-2 in their final match of the regular season.

FSU came out challenging the Wesleyan defense in the opening minutes of the match, earning their first corner after just a minute of play. Junior Alex Retzos fired off the first shot of the match following the corner, though couldn't find the net. Sophomore Brennan Moore would get the start for Frostburg, making his first save in the 16th minute to keep the score knotted at 0-0. Wesleyan was able to take the lead in the 22nd minute making the score 1-0. FSU would get their first goal of the match courtesy of a WVWC own goal in the 44th minute to tie the score back up at 1-1. Wesleyan quickly responded, scoring their second goal of the match less than a minute later to end the first half with a lead of 2-1.

WVWC quickly added back-to-back goals to extend lead at 4-1 in the opening minutes of the second half. Frostburg would grab their second goal of the match in the 66th minute of the match, courtesy of a second Wesleyan own goal to make the score 4-2. FSU would continue to battle throughout the second half of Wednesday's match, pushing to knock the Wesleyan lead to one, but just weren't able to make the most of their chances. WVWC added their fifth goal in the 82nd minute to end the scoring at 5-2.

With the loss, Frostburg concludes the regular season schedule with a 4-9-5 record on the year, while Wesleyan moves to 7-6-4.
