FROSTBURG, Md.- The Frostburg State men's basketball team took on eight-ranked West Liberty in a 124-84 loss at home on Wednesday evening.
WLU got the first four points of the game, which FSU responded with a basket from junior Bo Schene and a dunk from senior Sean Patterson, then sophomore Jaylon Johnson knocked down a three to get the game to 10-7 Hilltoppers. From there, West Liberty's offense took over, knocking down layups and three-pointers to a 59-32 halftime lead.
The scoring trend continued into the second half, as despite 52 Bobcat points, the Hilltoppers continued their momentum and would finish winners, 124-84.
Junior Agyei Edwards led the team in scoring with 17 points, with graduate Canaan Bartley right behind him with 16 points, while completing a double-double with a team-leading 11 rebounds, as he also tacked on three assists and two steals, both team-highs.
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 5-10 while the Hilltoppers rise to 14-1 on the season. Frostburg's next opponent will be on Saturday, January 15 where they will face Wheeling on the road at 4 p.m. For more information and updates, visit
