FROSTBURG, Md.- The Frostburg State men's soccer team had a defensive battle against the Golden Eagles of Charleston (W. Va.), ultimately being defeated 2-0.
The game kicked off with multiple passes and defensive stops coming from both sides of the pitch. Neither defense gave up much of anything for the first half. During the second half, the Golden Eagles struck with a goal in the 56th minute coming from Duvan Canchilla. Frostburg would get opportunities to come back, with outside shots from freshmen Zach Harpel and Caleb Dell forcing Golden Eagle keeper Marc Torrado into a couple saves. Charelston would seal the game with 12 minutes remaining on a goal from Said Garcia to end the match 2-0.Â
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-3-1 while the eighth-ranked Golden Eagles rise to 6-1 on the season. Frostburg's next opponent will be the Senators of Davis & Elkins at home on Sunday, October 3 at 8 PM where it will also be senior night.
