BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East announced its women's soccer preseason poll, voted on by head coaches in the league, with Frostburg picked to finish second in the North Division, including two first-place votes.

The Bobcats will enter their third season at the Division II level, having reached the MEC Tournament Semifinal in the Spring season after winning the Central Division. Frostburg is ranked No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches national preseason poll. FSU went 6-1-2 in the Spring and will return nearly the entire roster, with a talented freshmen class adding squad depth. They open the season Friday, September 2 as they host Shippensburg the "D2 in the DMV" Tournament in Leesburg, Va.

After playing in three divisions this spring, the league returns to its two-division format this fall. The top three teams in each division will advance to the conference tournament.
Notre Dame is the pick to win the North Division with 64 points, including nine first-place votes. Frostburg State was second with 55 points with two first-place votes, and Fairmont State was third with 49 points and the remaining first-place vote. West Liberty (36), Alderson Broaddus (24) and Wheeling (18) rounded out the North Division poll.
Concord landed atop the South Division poll with 65 points (10 first-place votes). Charleston was next with 56 points and had two first-place votes. West Virginia Wesleyan was slotted third (45 points), followed by West Virginia State (33), Davis & Elkins (31) and Glenville State (16).
Notre Dame (12th), Concord (14th) and Frostburg State (21st) will begin the season nationally ranked. The full poll is listed below.
