FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team won at home Saturday afternoon, defeating the Charleston Golden Eagles by a final score of 20-7. The Bobcats were led by sophomore Cammie Schniedwind with four goals and two assists.

The win moves the Bobcats to 4-3 on the season while the Golden Eagles fall to 2-5.

First-year Erin Bryce got the scoring going for the Bobcats, netting the game's first goal five minutes in. The Golden Eagles tied the game three minutes later at 1-1. Frostburg then went on a 4-0 scoring run with goals from senior Maggie Roszko, Schniedwind, and two goals from senior Lindsay Kohlmann to take a 5-1 lead with 11 minutes remaining in the first half.

Charleston scored to make it 5-2 before the Bobcats went on a 5-0 scoring run with goals from senior Stephanie King, Kohlmann, Bryce, and two goals from senior Summer Cavey to take a 10-2 lead with five minutes remaining in the half. The Golden Eagles scored on a free position shot to cut the Bobcat lead to seven at 10-3. Sophomore Lilly Stephens netted her first goal of the game on a free position shot before Schniedwind scored to increase the FSU lead to 12-3. Charleston netted a goal 30 seconds before halftime to give Frostburg a 12-4 lead at the intermission.

Bryce again started the scoring with a goal 55 seconds into the second half to increase the lead to 13-4. Charleston scored back-to-back goals to put the Golden Eagles down 13-6. First-year Anna Kearney scored back-to-back goals, with the second being assisted by first-year Grace Bagosy to increase the lead to 15-6. King netted a free position goal before Schniedwind netted a free position of her own to take a 17-6 lead with 13 minutes remaining.

Kearney scored off an assist from Schniedwind, taking an 18-6 lead with nine minutes left in the game. Charleston scored to cut the Bobcat lead to 18-7. Schniedwind netted her fourth goal of the game off an assist from junior Shelby Brunett before King scored the final goal of the game to give FSU the 20-7 win.

Junior Emma Neff led the defense with three caused turnovers, while junior Bridget Weiss recorded one caused turnover with three ground balls. First-year goalkeeper Whitney Crosby registered 10 saves, allowing only seven goals in the win.
