Bobcats Fall at Home to Notre Dame (Ohio)

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg women's lacrosse team fell at home Saturday afternoon to the Notre Dame (Ohio) Falcons by a final score of 21-15. The Bobcats were led by senior Stephanie King with four goals, one draw control, one caused turnover, and two ground balls.
 
The loss drops Frostburg to 2-3 on the season while the Falcons move to 3-2.
 
Notre Dame started the game strong putting away the first three goals of the day. The Bobcats answered with two goals from King, one of which was a free position goal to put the Bobcats down one 3-2.
 
A Bobcat goal from sophomore Lilly Stephens brought FSU again within one goal at 4-3 with 18 minutes left in the first half. After a couple of Falcons goals to go ahead by four, King scored her third goal of the day off an assist from senior Summer Cavey to make the score 7-4. Three straight goals by the Bobcats scored by first-year Anna Kearney, sophomore Cammie Schniedwind, and senior Lindsay Kohlmann put FSU down one goal at 8-7 with 1:25 left in the half. After a goal by the visitors, Frostburg went into halftime down 9-7.
 
The Falcons opened the second half scoring the first four goals to go up by six at 13-7 until Cavy netted a free position goal to make it 13-8. Goals from King and Kearney put the Bobcats down four at 14-10 with 19 minutes left in the game.
 
After the Falcons scored two man up goals, Stephens scored a free position goal to make it 16-11. Stephens again scored off an assist from Kohlmann to make the score 17-12 with 14 minutes left to play. At 11:58, senior Maggie Roszko netted a goal with an assist from Kohlmann to put the Bobcats down five at 18-13. Kearney scored to make it 20-14 with nine minutes to play. Cavey scored the final goal of the game at 21-15 giving the Falcons the win.
