Bobcats Drop Road Contest at Wheeling

WHEELING, W. Va. – The Frostburg women's volleyball team loses to Wheeling on the road. FSU played three hard fought sets ending up 25-22, 25-16 and 25-19. This moves the Bobcats record to 0-5 on the year.
 
The Bobcats had 28 kills and 16 blocks on the night. First-year Beverly Braun led the team with 12 kills while also reordering eight digs. Senior Raven Pratt had half of the teams blocks with eight while sophomore Edwyna Lainez had 23 assists for the Bobcats.
 
Braun had a kill for Frostburg to end a five-point run for Wheeling. Frostburg shifted the momentum in their favor scoring four strait points with two blocks from Pratt and two kills for Braun. Frostburg eventually dropped the closely contested set 25-22.
 
The Bobcats started off the second set by surrendering seven straight point before getting a kill from Braun on the Lainez assist. Battling back into the set FSU had back-to-back kills from first year Laken Michael and sophomore Jackie Sterenberg. The second set ended 25-16 Wheeling.
 
The third set started off the same as the previous two with Braun getting the scoring going with a kill. Mid way through the set first year McKaily Thomas-Moran capped of a three-point run for FSU with a service ace. The last Frostburg point of the game was scored on a kill from Sterenberg before dropping the set 25-19.
