FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's basketball team lost at home Wednesday evening to the Falcons from Fairmont State 99-75. Graduate Canaan Bartley led the Bobcats with 17 points and eight rebounds while sophomore Jaylon Johnson recorded 15 points with two rebounds and three assists.

The loss drops FSU to 3-7 on the season, while the Falcons advance to 7-2.

Frostburg fell behind early until a 19-3 scoring run, which featured a layup from junior Jamil Jones, a jumper from senior Desmond Rene, a jumper from Johnson, a layup from sophomore Marcellus Carroll, and a three-pointer from junior Bo Schene put the Bobcats on top by three 25-22.

Senior Sean Patterson hit a three-pointer at 8:35 to go up by four before two successful free throws from Schene put Frostburg up six at 30-24. The Falcons controlled the last part of the first half, taking a 44-36 lead into halftime.

A Johnson jumper, along with a layup from Carroll and a layup from Jones, had the Bobcats down 56-44 with 15 minutes left in the game. Fairmont controlled the rest of the contest, while Frostburg closed out the game with two free throws from Johnson, making the final 99-75.

Schene ended the night with nine points and six rebounds, while Patterson recorded eights points for the Bobcats. Rene contributed seven points with two rebounds and one assist while first-year Sean Brown Jr. put up seven points with one rebound.
