ATHENS, W. Va.- The Frostburg State women's basketball team traveled to Concord on Sunday afternoon in a 78-47 loss.

CU raced out to a 12-4 lead that was cut by a three-pointer by senior Morgan Dombroski to make it 12-7. Back-to-back buckets from junior Arianna Briggs-Hall and sophomore Rhiana Hall then got FSU to within four at 15-11, but another Concord run brought the score to 21-13. Senior Shelby Funchess got an and-one at the end of the quarter to go into the second quarter 21-17 CU.

Sophomore Samiya Esema started out the second quarter with a basket and a free throw to get Frostburg within one at 21-20, but Concord responded with three three-pointers to go up 10 at 30-20. From there, the Mountain Lion defense held the Bobcats in check, going into the half up 37-26.

The strong defense would continue into the second half, as Concord eventually ran away 78-47 winners.

Funchess led the team with 11 points and Esema led the team in rebounds with eight.
