FSU would begin the afternoon of scoring with a 38-yard field goal from sophomore kicker Dayne Koontz, putting FSU up 3-0. West Virginia Wesleyan would go on to hold the lead for most of the first half, holding leads of 7-3, 7-6, 14-6 and 14-13. Senior Malcom Facey would break the streak of WVWC holding the lead, rushing in from nine yards out to give the lead back to FSU, 20-14. Within the final minute of the second quarter, redshirt freshman Graham Walker would rush in from two yards to increase the FSU lead to 27-14 at the break.

The scoring would quiet down in the third quarter, with the only one being senior Gavin Lavat rushing in from one yard out to increase the score to 34-14. Moving into the fourth quarter, graduate student Zae Giles would receive a direct snap and rush into the endzone from three yards out to push the FSU lead to 41-14. Following another score from both Facey and Lavat, FSU would go on to win the contest 55-14.
