FROSTBURG, MD- The Frostburg State field hockey team took on the Lions of Lindenwood University in a 3-0 loss in an early Tuesday game.
The game started off with the Lions pressuring the Bobcats, with FSU making multiple defensive stops. Ultimately, LU would strike first with a goal from Pauline Terwindt in the first quarter.
Throughout the game, Frostburg would stop Lindenwood's advances, but two more Lion goals from Mia Simpson in the second and Rachel Goebel in the fourth quarter.
Junior and freshman defenders Emily Hughes and Olivia Wenzel both made a defensive stop on the day. Junior forward Taylor Henderson had one shot and sophomore forward Heidi Van Dyk had two shots with one shot on goal.
With the loss, Frostburg falls to 1-10 while the Lions rise to 6-6 on the season. The Bobcats will next face the Valkyries of Converse College on Saturday, October 9 at 2PM, where it will be senior day. For more information and updates, visit www.frostburgsports.com.
