BRIDGEPORT, W. Va.- Gavin Lavat was named the MEC offensive football player of the week for his career day on Saturday against Fairmont State.
 
The senior running back rumbled his way to 190 yards and five touchdowns, tying school and conference records for touchdowns in a single game. His highlight of the day came on the first play of the second half, as he found room on the outside and broke away for 75 yards to the house. With the touchdown total, Lavat moved into first place for touchdowns in the MEC with 10.
