FROSTBURG, MD- The Frostburg State men's soccer team took on Wheeling in a defensive bout, which showcased the Bobcats getting a 1-0 victory on Homecoming Weekend and senior day.  

 

In the first half, it was a defensive battle, with Wheeling making multiple defensive stops and Frostburg taking multiple shots, including sophomore Alex Retzos and junior Kenny Simms both having two shots and one shot on goal.  

 

In the second half, the game was playing much like the first half until in the final five minutes of the game, when senior midfielder Daniel Juresic scored the game-winning goal, a fitting end on senior night. Senior goalkeeper Joel Assal earned sixth shut out on the season and made four saves on five Cardinal shots. 

 

The Bobcats rise to 6-5-1 while the Cardinals fall to 5-7 on the season. Frostburg next will travel to West Liberty on Wednesday, October 20 at 7:30 PM. For more information and updates, visit www.frostburgsports.com.
