FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg men's basketball team collected its third-straight win on Wednesday with its third-straight last second shot. Senior Daniel Alexander hit a step-back jumper with 3.3 seconds left in regulation to send the Bobcat men to a 63-62 win over visiting Urbana.

The third-straight victory pushes the Bobcats to 10-13 overall and 7-10 in the MEC.

The Bobcats led by six, 61-55, with 1:29 remaining following an Alexander three-pointer. The Blue Knights (5-17, 4-12 MEC) then rallied to pull within one, 61-60 with 28 seconds left. Following a Frostburg turnover, Urbana's Shaun Monroe hit a jumper with eight seconds left for a 62-61 lead.

However, Alexander's game-winner came just second later.

The Bobcats started off the game hot on an 8-4 run against the Blue Knights to immediately take the lead. Alexander had six of the eight points to propel Frostburg. The Bobcats went on a second run early in the first half where three different players registered points to take the Bobcats' lead to 14-6. Later in the half, the Blue Knights outpaced the scoring of the Bobcats on a 12-8 run ending the first half with tied score at 26.

Early in the second half, Alexander registered another seven points over a five-minute span putting the Bobcats up by one at 37-36. A dominating 10-1 run midway through the half left Alexander and sophomore Bo Schene with four points each adding to Frostburg's cushion as its lead inflated to 10 for a score of 47-37.

In a late surge, the Blue Knights closed the score gap bringing the score within four after two free throws from Drew Thomas and then a layup from Alexander at 4:40 bringing the score to 56-52. In the last minutes of the game, the Bobcats and Blue Knights went on an even run, but with a few scoring shots from the Bobcats, they kept the lead as a three-pointer from Monroe put the score at 61-60.

Alexander led the Bobcats with 34 points, the fifth game this season where he has scored over 30 points. He added six rebounds and a steal. He was the only Bobcat in double figures.

Monroe led the Blue Knights with 17 points, while Lacy added 14.
