Alexander’s Heroics Land MEC Player Of The Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – For the second time this season, Frostburg senior Daniel Alexander collected MEC Player of the Week accolades following his efforts in a two-win week.

The Rockville, Maryland native had a hand in both of FSU's last-second victories over Concord and Glenville State last week. Alexander found senior Terry Kenner for the game-winning three-point shot with 1.4 seconds remaining against Concord on Thursday.

Fast-forwarding two days later, Alexander found himself in familiar territory. But instead of handing out a pass, the senior took the ball himself up the left lane and floated the game-clinching shot with 2.6 seconds to play against Glenville State.

Alexander recorded double-doubles in both games, with 15 points and 11 rebounds against Concord and 23 points and 10 boards versus Glenville State. He also had seven assists and four steals against the Mountain Lions and swiped a pair of blocks against the Pioneers.

The Bobcats return to their home court on Wednesday against Urbana (Ohio) at 7:30 p.m.
