Frostburg State Places Third in 2025-26 MEC Commissioner's Cup

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference announced the 2025-26 Commissioner's Cup standings, of which Frostburg State placed third of the 11 member schools.

For the ninth consecutive year, the University of Charleston won the trophy, with Glenville State placing second. The Bobcats were co-champions in football, won the MEC Women's Swimming Championship, won both the women's lacrosse regular and tournament titles, and were co-champions of the North Division in baseball.

The Commissioner's Cup standings are compiled using an "all-sports rating." This rating is determined by a formula that awards points to a school for its regular season finish equal to the number of teams per sport sponsored by the MEC, and then divided by the number of sports offered by the institution. The final rating is a percentage of points acquired against the number of points available (average percentile finish in the standings of each sport sponsored by an institution). A bonus point is given for winning the conference tournament (in applicable sports).
