CUMBERLAND, Md. – Junior Joe Adedayo exploded for a career-high 29 points and Frostburg escaped some late points from Notre Dame for a narrow 72-69 win, Wednesday.

The game featured 10 lead changes and five ties, Frostburg led for the final 8:59. The win pushed Frostburg's winning streak to four as it improved to 6-7 overall and 3-4 in the MEC.

The Falcons used a baseline jumper from Levi Frankland and he was fouled on the play. Frankland made the free throw to pull the visitors to within one, 70-69, with seven seconds left. Senior Daniel Alexander hit two foul shots with three seconds left and the Bobcat defense forced the Falcons (3-10, 1-6) into a contested three-pointer that was off the mark as the horn went off.

Adedayo finished 8-of-17 from the floor with five three-pointers. He also finished 8-of-9 at the foul line with three steals. Alexander was the second player in double figured for FSU with 17 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

DeAnthony Owens led the Falcons with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Drew Scarberry finished with 12.

The decisive second half featured nine of the game's 10 lead changes and the Bobcats captured the lead for good at 8:59 when senior Jordan Dawson tipped home a missed basket for a 59-58 lead. Prior to Dawson's tip, Frostburg held the largest lead of the second half for either team at five, 40-35, just under two minutes into the second half when Alexander hit a jumper.

The Falcons led by three with 13:06 to play in regulation when Scarberry hit a jumper from the right side that gave the visitors a 48-45 advantage. At 11:13, Owens converted a traditional three-point play with a jumper and foul shot as ND led by two, 51-49.

Midway through the second, Owens hit a three-pointer for a two-point lead and Scarberry hit two free throws at 9:14 for the Falcons' final lead of the night at 58-57.

The first half featured two ties and one lead change. Adedayo provided the spark for the Bobcats offensively with 15 points behind three three-pointers.

Notre Dame used the first seven minutes of action to build a 10-point cushion. Jacob Sala hit a layup at 13:33 and on the ensuing trip down the floor, Larenz Thurman hit a jumper for a 14-4 lead.

Adedayo answered for the Bobcats with a three-pointer at 12:50 and again at 12:07, but the Falcons answered with three-pointers of their own to keep the lead at 10.

Frostburg started its comeback at 8:58 when Maurice Carroll tipped home a miss for a 25-17 score. Moments later, the Bobcats trimmed their deficit to 27-22 when senior Daniel Alexander hit a three-pointer.

Adedayo knotted the game for the first time with a three-pointer at 3:58 as the scoreboard read 31-31. Frostburg was unable to retake the lead but Alexander tied things at half with a jumper with 40 seconds left, leading to the second half of action in favor of a Bobcat win.
