Bobcat Women Lose MEC Matchup At West Liberty

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - West Liberty scored a pair of first-half goals and tacked on a third in the second in a 3-0 shutout of visiting Frostburg, Wednesday night.

WLU's Kaelyn Oskin scored the final two goals of the night for the host Hilltoppers as they improve to 1-4-1 overall with their first victory of the fall.

Meanwhile, the Bobcats had a two-game winning streak snapped and they settle at 2-3-1 overall.

The Hilltoppers scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 15th minute when Layne Hartnell scored on a shot from inside the six-yard box.

Senior Brooke Shehade led the Bobcats in shots with three attempts and all three were on net. All three of her shots came in the second half as FSU tried to get back into the contest.

West Liberty outshot the Bobcats 14-10, but the second half numbers favored Frostburg as it led 8-7.

FSU sophomore keeper Stephanie Vigezzi notched four saves, but surrendered all three Frostburg goals.

The Bobcats return to the field on Sunday at Notre Dame (Ohio) at 1:00 pm.
