Frostburg Shuts Out Notre Dame 2-0

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – Senior Brooke Shehade and sophomore Audra Curtin each scored for Frostburg as it got back on the winning track on Sunday afternoon with a 2-0 shutout of Notre Dame.
 
Frostburg evens its record at 3-3-1 overall with its third MEC win.
 
NDC (2-2-3, 1-1-2) outshot Frostburg in the opening half 6-4, but the Bobcats got on the board first when they scored on their final shot of the stanza.
 
Curtin dropped a pass to Shehade who scored from 25 yards out for her sixth goal of the fall season. Frostburg's first shot on goal of the game in the 23rd minute came off the foot of Shehade forcing a save from Falcon keeper Kyra McDowell.
 
The second half brought more of the same as Notre Dame outshot FSU 13-3. Frostburg added to its lead in the 53rd minute when Cuertin stole the ball from a Falcon player and beat McDowell one-on-one for her her team-leading seventh goal of the fall. The victory is the second shutout in MEC play for the Bobcats and pushed their league mark to 3-1.
 
Sophomore Stephanie Vigezzi notched a career-best six saves including four in the first half. She stopped two shots within the first 14 minutes of the game and saved two more early in the second half.
 
Frostburg hosts Fairmont State this Thursday at home at 7:00 pm.
