FSU Falls In Final Game Of Road Trip

LOUISVILLE, KY. - The Bobcats wrapped up their midwest trip with a 9-1 loss against Lindenwood in Kentucky to move to 0-5 on the season.

The game started with a quick goal by junior Gabby Rachuba in the first three minutes of the game. Rachuba found the cage after a break away separating herself from the Knights' defenders. The goal was her first of the season.

With a little over eight minutes to go in the first quarter, senior goalkeeper Sierra Smizer made an athletic save diving across the face of the goal to preserve the FSU early lead.  Shortly after the save, Bellarmine poured in back-to-back goals to take the lead scored by, junior Alex Hill and first-year Amber HofenkJerembo. The Knights added another goal to end the first quarter with a 3-1 lead.

The second quarter was all Bellarmine as they scored two more goals, one off of a penalty corner, to build their lead to 5-1 at the half.

The Knights extended their lead after a goal in the first four minutes of the second half off of a shot by junior Mandi Isom her first of the season. Shortly after the Isom goal, the Knights scored again off of a rebound to extend the Bellarmine lead to 7-1.

Isom scored again in the fourth quarter off of an assist from HofenkJerembo making the score 8-1 Knights. Harris found the back of the cage with under five minutes to play to make the score 9-1 Bellarmine to end the scoring.

Rachuba ended the game with seven shots, four of which were on goal. She also contributed her first career defensive save. Senior Logan Gladden recorded two shots on the afternoon. Smizer concluded the contest with nine saves.

The next time Frostburg plays will be against Coker on Saturday, September 21 starting at 5:00 p.m. The game will be Senior Day for the Bobcats as they recognize the 2019 seniors. For more information visit www.frostburgsports.com.
