ST.CHARLES, Mo. – The Frostburg State field hockey team traveled to St. Charles, Missouri to take on the Lindenwood Lions Friday evening. The Bobcats fell 3-1 in the matchup leaving them at 0-4 on the season.
Senior Logan Gladden registered the lone Bobcat goal of the evening with three registered shots.
The first goal of the game came after two shots from Lindenwood and two saves from Frostburg senior goalkeeper Sierra Smizer at 6:36. Frostburg was able to draw a penalty corner but couldn't convert as the shot from first-year Taylor Henderson went wide. Later on, Lindenwood would register their second goal of the night at 14:23 off a penalty corner.
The second quarter immediately started with a Lindenwood goal at 16:41 but the Bobcats answered back at 19:41 with a goal from Gladden on a converted penalty corner shortening the deficit 3-1.
The Bobcats had a defensive stand in the third and fourth quarters as the Lions took 10 shots and Frostburg allowed no more goals.
Smizer saw a full 60 minutes of action in goal and tallied eight saves on the night.
