165 Bobcats Named CAC All-Academic

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its 2018-19 All-Academic Team and 165 Frostburg State student-athletes were honored by the league office, Wednesday morning.

Frostburg's 165 total athletes finished fifth among the eight conference members and is the most honoress for FSU since it joined the CAC in 2010-11. The Bobcats had 45.5 percent (165-of-363) of their student-athletes honored, good for fourth in the league.

In total, 1,445 athletes received academic recognition among the league schools. In order to be selected, student-athletes must have attained a 3.20 grade point average throughout the 2018-19 academic year. York (Pa.) led the charge with 278 student-athletes honored.

The Frostburg women's soccer team led the way with 23 All-Academic selections. The men's lacrosse team checked in with 21 honorees and women's lacrosse followed with 15.

In terms or percentage, women's tennis led the way with 90.9 percent (10-of-11) of its student-athletes named to the CAC All-Academic team. Women's soccer was second with 82.1 percent (23-of-28) of its student-athletes honored.

A total of nine FSU student-athletes were named CAC All-Academic for all four seasons of their careers and another 30 student-athletes boasted a perfect 4.0 during the 2018-19 academic year.
