FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Junior Ryan Roell earned All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Second Team honors for first base, announced by the league office earlier today.
Roell led a Frostburg offense that was ranked third in the conference in home runs (40) and slugging percentage (.458), and fourth in extra-base hits (116).
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native clubbed 16 home runs this season, a total that broke the FSU single-season record and ranked second in the conference and the country. His .823 slugging percentage led the CAC and was the seventh-best in the country as well.
The slugger also led the Bobcats with a .362 batting average, 47 hits, 34 runs, 12 doubles, 40 RBIs and 107 total bases. He ended his season on a high note, going a combined 5-for-8 with two homers and seven RBIs in the Bobcats' season-ending doubleheader against Southern Virginia on May 1.
The Bobcats finished the year with a 13-20-1 record in a season that included a 10-game winning streak, the program's longest winning streak since the 2015 campaign.
