WESTMINSTER, Md. – The McDaniel women's lacrosse team scored eight of the game's first nine goals en route to a 19-4 victory over Frostburg, Saturday.
The Bobcats fall to 1-3 with the loss, while the Green Terror improve to 2-3.
Junior Molly Biggers scored two goals on three shots and posted five draw controls to lead Frostburg. She also added two ground balls and a caused turnover.
Biggers scored Frostburg's first goal at 17:32 that narrowed the deficit to 4-1. McDaniel rattled off the next four goals before first-year Shelby Brunett scored an unassisted tally at 7:59.
The Green Terror closed the first half with two more scores for a 10-2 cushion at the break.
McDaniel opened the second half with another 4-0 run before Biggers scored at 19:37 to close the gap to 14-3
Following four more goals from the hosts, senior Morgan Cavey scored off an assist from Burnett with 4:45 left in the second. Tori Arcilesi closed the game with the final goal with 1:52 to play to set the final at 19-4.
The Green Terror outshot FSU 36-11 and held a 31-8 edge in shots on goal. Bobcat junior keeper Abigail McClure posted seven saves in the first half, while first-year Sophia Douglas notched five saves in the second.
Lindsay Farrell scored five and one assist to lead McDaniel. Kealey Allison added three goals.
Frostburg hosts Shenandoah this Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
