FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Frostburg senior Edwin Cole and junior Daniel Alexander were voted to the 2019 All-CAC basketball teams as announced by the league office Thursday morning.
Alexander had a standout season for the Bobcats and was voted to the first team, while Cole picked up second-team honors for the second-consecutive season.
The duo helped Frostburg to a 10-16 overall record and the fifth seed in the CAC Tournament.
Alexander leads the CAC in FGs made (167), is second in the league in points (429) and is second in the league in points per game (17.9). A year ago, Alexander averaged 13 ppg, but he emerged as Frostburg's primary scorer this season and led the Bobcats in scoring in 11 games.
Alexander's best effort of the season came with a 33-point performance in Frostburg's OT loss against Division I Longwood. He also added 12 rebounds and five three-pointers on his way to a career-high in points.
Cole caps his Frostburg career in stellar fashion with all-conference honors a week after he became the 19
th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points. In Frostburg's loss to York (Pa.), Cole scored 21 points to reach the milestone late in the game.
Cole currently leads the CAC in blocked shots (47) and he is second in the league in rebounds per game (9.6) and total rebounds (240).
Last season, Cole finished fourth in the nation in offensive rebounds (4.27) and 10
th in the country in blocked shots (68).
