NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its 2018 NCAA DIII Men's Cross Country All-Academic honorees and Frostburg senior Robert Romano garnered the award for the third-straight year.

Romano boasts a 3.80 cumulative GPA, while majoring in engineering and he is a five-time Dean's List student. He has garnered USTFCCCA All-Academic honors as both a sophomore and junior.

In order to qualify for the honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.

Romano powered the Bobcat men's cross country team this fall with four wins in eight meets. He crossed the finial line in first place at Westmoreland, Messiah, Frostburg and Penn State Fayette. He also added top-10 finishes at Shippensburg, DeSales and at the CAC Championships.

At the CACs, Romano took home fifth place and earned First Team All-CAC honors in the process.

Two weeks after the CACs, Romano was named a USTFCCCA All-Region award winner after placing 24th in 26:39 at the NCAA Mideast Regional meet.
