CHARLESTON, W. Va. – Frostburg senior Daniel Alexander scored 16 and senior Lawrence Pettis Jr. added 14 as the Bobcats lost to Charleston, 107-87, Saturday.

Frostburg falls to 2-6 overall on the year and 1-3 in the Mountain East. Charleston is now 6-2 overall and 2-2 in the league thanks to its third-consecutive home victory.

Late in the first half, Drew Lackley hit a three pointer to improve the Golden Eagles lead to 43-25 with 4:45 showing. A couple minutes later Garrett Denbow pushed the lead to a first half high of 23 with a jumper at :59 and the Golden Eagles led 57-36 at the halftime intermission.

Halfway through the second half, Charleston went on a 7-0 scoring run increasing their lead to 77-44 before the Bobcats answered with a three pointer from Pettis Jr. and a layup by sophomore Torrin Stephens to make it 77-49 with 12:12 remaining. Minutes later, a 13-4 Bobcat scoring run saw the host lead cut to 89-65 with 7:08 showing.

A Golden Eagle three pointer closed the game for Charleston with a 27-point win.

Alexander added seven rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks to his 16-point outing on the afternoon. Sophomore Bo Schene contributed 13 points shooting 3-5 from three-point range while first-year Jalyon Johnson added 12 points.
