ELKINS, W.Va. - Four starters scored in double figures and Frostburg State secured its first win of the 2019 season with a 71-63 win at Davis & Elkins, Tuesday.Â

The Bobcats entered the matchup at 0-5 overall on the season and they used a third-quarter surge for the win. Meanwhile, the Senators trailed by just one, 31-30 at the half and never recovered as they settle at 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the MEC.Â

Graduate student Victoria Diggs hit a three-pointer before the midway point in the second quarter for a 26-13 FSU edge and she later hit another three as the Bobcats led four, 31-27 with less than a minute to play in the first half.Â

Davis & Elkins opened the second half with a layup from Jamiyah Johnson for a quick 32-31 lead, but Diggs answered again for Frostburg. She connected on back-to-back three-pointers and FSU never trailed again.Â

Sophomore Morgan Dombroski hit a three-pointer off an assist from sophomore Drew Dunathan at 3:52 for a 48-39 lead.Â

The Senators cut their deficit to four on several occasions in the fourth, the final time coming with 47 seconds left.Â

However, junior Jada Holland hit a layup with 33 seconds left and Dombroski connected on two foul shots with 16 seconds left to help seal the win.Â

Diggs powered FSU with 19 points on the offensive end of the floor, while Holland posted her third double-double of the campaign with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Amanda Emory scored 12 points and Dombroski contributed 11.Â

The 71 points are a season-best for the Bobcats and they knocked down eight three-pointers. Â

The hosts finished with three players in double figures and were led in scoring by Jessica Eadsforth-Yates with 13 points. Â
