Bobcat Women Secure First Win

ELKINS, W.Va. - Four starters scored in double figures and Frostburg State secured its first win of the 2019 season with a 71-63 win at Davis & Elkins, Tuesday.

The Bobcats entered the matchup at 0-5 overall on the season and they used a third-quarter surge for the win. Meanwhile, the Senators trailed by just one, 31-30 at the half and never recovered as they settle at 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the MEC.

Graduate student Victoria Diggs hit a three-pointer before the midway point in the second quarter for a 26-13 FSU edge and she later hit another three as the Bobcats led four, 31-27 with less than a minute to play in the first half.

Davis & Elkins opened the second half with a layup from Jamiyah Johnson for a quick 32-31 lead, but Diggs answered again for Frostburg. She connected on back-to-back three-pointers and FSU never trailed again.
