GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Frostburg State field hockey team wrapped up its weekend trip to the state of South Carolina with a 6-0 loss at Limestone College, Sunday afternoon.
The Bobcats started the trip with a 2-1 victory over Converse in overtime on Saturday before settling at 1-13 overall following Sunday's loss.
The Saints found the cage six times on just 16 shots over the 60 minutes of action.
Bobcat senior Sierra Smizer started in net for Frostburg and notched four saves, while facing 12 shots. She stopped two shots in the first half and added two more in the third quarter. First-year Madison Manalansan played the final 17 minutes and allowed the final score.
Bobcat midfielder Sam Coffey attempted Frostburg's first shot in the 25
th minute that was blocked by the defense.
First-year Cassidy Trojan took the second shot for the Bobcats in the 43
rd minute and the attempt was credited as a defensive save for Limestone's Sophie Kottmer.
Kelly Diplock led the Saints with two goals on three shots.
Frostburg returns to action on Monday Oct. 28 at Mercyhurst at 6:00 pm.
