SALISBURY, Md. – The Bobcats came away with a 2-1 win against Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opponent, Salisbury, on Saturday afternoon.
The Bobcats move to a 3-6 record overall and their first conference win while the Seagulls move to 3-6-1 overall.
Senior Danielle Ferris powered the Bobcats with her first two goals of the season. The first goal was scored at 2:19 off a free kick from junior Gwen Schemm to then be headed in by Ferris. The eventual game winner came off a corner kick by junior Brooke Shehade then nailed in by Ferris at 49:58.
The Seagulls answered back in the second half with a goal at 74:25 by sophomore Juliana Looney, assisted by junior Lydia Narum.
The Bobcats had eight shots while the Seagulls accumulated 25 throughout the full 90 minutes of play.
Senior goalkeeper Rhianna Lapen saw 90 minutes and registered seven saves for the match.
The Bobcats return to action on Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. when they take on The Catholic University of America Cardinals in Washington, D.C.
