WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Frostburg men's soccer team defeated Washington & Jefferson, 2-1, in non-league action Saturday afternoon.
A pair of first half goals carried the Bobcats (3-4) to their third win of the season and the second of the week.
First-year Mo Odolla scored his second goal of the season and senior Alfred Kemal tallied his first goal to power the Bobcats.
W&J made things interesting in the second half when Michael DeSabato scored his first of the season in the 54
th minute.
Frostburg keeper Joel Assal made a save in the 62
nd minute and again at 78:26 to keep the Presidents (2-2-1) from scoring again.
Odolla's tally came in the 13
th minute off a pass from junior Blake Geatz, who sent a long cross into the middle of the box that Odolla headed home.
At 28:21, Kemal bent a corner kick over keeper Nick Stasko's head for as 2-0 Frostburg lead.
Assal needed just three saves for the win, while his counterpart Stasko stopped six shots.
The Bobcats put eight of their 11 shots on goal, including four shots on goal in each half. Odolla paced Frostburg with two shots on goal.
The Bobcats return to action on Wednesday when they host Dickinson at Bobcat Stadium at 5:00 pm.
