Men’s Tennis Concludes Weekend With Loss to #36 CNU
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Frostburg State men's tennis team battled in a 9-0 setback to Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) power No. 36 Christopher Newport Saturday afternoon at the Eyre Courts.
The Bobcats had a pair of contested doubles matches, ultimately falling in both. Senior Joey Cox and junior Derek Thompson endured an 8-3 defeat to Walter Buck and Dillon Sykes in No. 3 doubles while the duo of seniors Aaron Beckner and Nate Farlow lost 8-2 to Bryce Coleman and Alex Johnson in No. 2 doubles.
In singles action, junior Shasta Braithwaite came up on the wrong side of a 6-1, 7-5 match against William Trang. Farlow dropped a No. 3 singles match to Coleman, 6-0, 6-2.
Frostburg returns to action this Saturday, March 31 when it hosts Hood at 1:00 p.m.
