Bobcat Women Roll Over Goucher

TOWSON, Md. – Four different players registered at least five points as the Frostburg women's lacrosse team posted a dominating 19-6 win over Goucher, Wednesday.
 
Sophomore Molly Biggers scored a career-best five goals, first-year Jara Matlick scored four times and handed out one assist, junior Morgan Cavey found the net three times with two assists, while first-year Stephanie King scored three times and helped on three other goals in the win.
 
The Bobcats closed the first half with six-straight goals for a 12-2 lead at the break and played for much of the second half with the running game clock.
 
First-year Summer Cavey found Biggers for a goal at 15:56 in the second for a 17-4 lead and Matlick scored at 9:10 for an 18-5 advantage.
 
King rounded out the afternoon for the Bobcats with game's final score at 2:13 to set the final at 19-6.
 
The Bobcats posted an impressive 46 shots, including 37 on goal. The 19 goals are the second-highest total for Frostburg this spring.
 
Biggers, Morgan Cavey and senior Courtney Ridenour scored the game's first three goals inside the first five minutes of the opening half. Biggers scored her second of the afternoon at 24:31 as the Bobcats led comfortably at 4-0.
 
Ridenour scored her second of the game that kickstarted Frostburg's 6-0 run, while senior Samantha Cataldo ended the run with 16 seconds left in the half.
 
The Bobcats caused 11 turnovers in the game with 17 ground balls and 11 draw controls. Senior Lachelle Coates posted a team-high four ground balls, while junior keeper Abigail McClure played just 35:18 with five saves for the win.
 
Camryn Agostino and Shannon Stull led the Gophers with two goals each, while Bridget Den Boer made 18 saves in net.
 
The Bobcats return home on Saturday when they host Lynchburg at noon.
