STEVENSON, Md. - The Frostburg State baseball team capped its weekend at Stevenson with a dramatic 5-4 walk-off victory over Elmira Sunday afternoon at Sugar Field.

Frostburg (10-1), winners of eight-straight games, needed the bottom half of the ninth to secure the victory as senior Logan Corrigan smacked the game-deciding single.

Elmira (0-8) scored single runs in four-straight innings for a 4-2 lead before the Bobcats pushed across two runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game at four.

The Bobcats cap the weekend with a pair of victories, outscoring their opponents 12-4 while collecting 24 total hits.

Junior Brady Adam put together another solid outing, going 6.0 innings against the Soaring Eagles. The Olney, Md. native allowed just four hits and two runs (one earned) with eight strikeouts. It marked back-to-back outings where Adam has struckout eight after previously doing it in an 8-5 victory over then top-ranked SUNY Cortland on March 4.

Adam has accumulated 38 strikeouts in just 22.2 innings pitched this season and boasts a 1.19 earned run average.

Corrigan and senior outfielder Evan Colon had two hits apiece for Frostburg while five other players had one hit.

Frostburg opened up a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a single from senior outfielder Matt Bougourd. Frostburg was held off the scoreboard until the sixth when Corrigan cracked a double to left, scoring junior Brock Antognoni to tie the game at two.

Junior Matt Thomas, who made the start at catcher, came up large with a two-RBI double down the left field line in the eighth inning that tied the game at four.

The Bobcats led off the bottom of the ninth with back-to-back singles from Colon and Antognoni and a fielder's choice put runners at first and third for Corrigan.

With two outs, Corrigan gave Frostburg its first walk-off win of the season. Sophomore pitcher Mike Livingston finished the game for Frostburg with two innings out of the bullpen.

The Bobcats return to action on Saturday, March 17 for a road contest at No. 15 Shenandoah at 12:00 p.m.
