STEVENSON, Md. - Senior left-hander Logan Corrigan notched his first win of the season and the Frostburg offense provided plenty of run support in a 7-0 victory over Eastern Saturday afternoon at Sugar Field.Â

Corrigan battled through five innings, allowing six hits and no runs. Corrigan posted a career-high nine strikeouts and fanned at least two batters in four different innings.Â

Corrigan worked through multiple jams and some traffic on the base paths, but held Eastern off the scoreboard in his second scoreless outing of the season. The Bethel Park, Pa. native has allowed just one run in three outings this year while racking up 20 strikeouts.Â

Frostburg was balanced offensively, collecting contributions from throughout the lineup. Four players posted multiple hit efforts at the plate as the Bobcats collected seven runs on 16 hits.Â

As a team, Frostburg notched its eighth game of the season with double-digit hits. The 16 hits tie for the second most in a single game this seasonÂ

Junior infielder Brock Antognoni led the way with four hits, two RBI and a run scored. Senior outfielder Matt Bougourd, junior infielder Nick Fuhrmann and first-year outfielder Josh Clegg all added a pair of hits for the Bobcats.Â

Frostburg struck first offensively for a quick 1-0 lead. Bougourd collected the first hit of the afternoon for Frostburg with a double to left and later scored on a single from Fuhrmann on the next at-bat.Â

The Bobcats doubled their lead to 2-0 in the third inning following a single from Antognoni and expanded the edge to 3-0 in the fifth inning on Bougourd's second double of the day.Â

Bougourd posted three hits with one RBI and one run scored.Â

Senior outfielder Evan Colon continued his hot streak at the plate with a run-scoring single in the sixth as Frostburg went up 4-0. Colon has recorded an RBI in nine of the first 10 games this season and boasts a four-game hitting streak.Â

Frostburg added another run in the bottom of the sixth on a single from Antognoni for a 5-0 advantage.

Frostburg tacked on two more runs in the eighth inning for the 5-0 final.Â

Clegg, who made the start in left field, notched two hits and scored a run.Â

Frostburg also received scoreless efforts from junior Chase Delost and senior Dan Richardson in relief. Richardson collected the save after tossing 3.0 innings with six strikeouts.Â

Frostburg continues its weekend trip to Stevenson tomorrow morning with a non-conference matchup against Elmira at 11:00 a.m. from Sugar Field.
