FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Frostburg State offense collected big hits in timely situations and senior hurler Greg Schneider cruised through the Rutgers-Newark lineup in a 13-0 victory Saturday afternoon at J.P. Riddle Stadium in Fayetteville.
Â
Schneider was dominant with his 96 pitches, allowing just two hits in seven shutout innings. He fanned 15 batters for the second time in two starts this spring. Against the Scarlet Raiders, Schneider struckout at least two batters in all seven innings, including three in the sixth.

Â
On the mound, Frostburg has totaled 39 strikeouts in its two wins this weekend, the most combined strikeouts over a two-game stretch since game-by-game team records were kept at Frostburg.
Â
Yesterday afternoon, junior Brady Adam powered the Bobcats with 15 Ks against New Rochelle, while today, Schneider allowed just two singles without surrendering a walk against Newark.
Â
Meanwhile, the Frostburg offense came through with some timely hits in the early innings before putting things well out of reach late. Senior Logan Corrigan led the Bobcats offensive attack with three hits, which included a two-run home run to right in the fifth inning, and three RBI.

Â
Fuhrmann was one of three Bobcats with two RBI. Bougourd expanded the Frostburg lead to 4-0 in the very next inning with a double to left center. Senior Kyle Burger and Antognoni scored the runs as Frostburg notched all the run support it needed early.
Â
Corrigan smacked his two-run homer in the fifth and added one more run for Frostburg in the eighth inning.
Â
The Bobcats tallied six runs in the eighth to obtain the 13-0 advantage. Senior pitcher Trenton Eirich finished the game with two scoreless innings.
