After a jumper was made by Frostburg senior Megan Kelly to cut the Bobcat deficit to 11-4, Trine erupted for 11 unanswered points to give the Thunder a 22-4 lead after the first quarter. The charge was led by junior guard Katy Steers, who after stealing the ball ran down for a successful layup and added a free throw on a foul.

At the half, junior Sydney Stotler led the Bobcats with four points and three rebounds. Kelly also collected four points and junior Victoria Yoder brought in four rebounds. The Thunder was led by freshman forward Kelsy Taylor and senior guard Cassidy Williams, who had eight and seven points respectively.
