FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State field hockey dropped a home contest to No. 8 ranked Salisbury, Saturday at a sun drenched Bobcat Stadium.
The nationally-ranked Sea Gulls (9-2) scored three goals in each half en route to the win. The tandem of Tara Flavin and Tara Daddio combined to score all six goals. Flavin finished with four goals and opened the afternoon with the game's first tally 5:44 into action.
The Gulls also outshot Frostburg 41-1 and had 18 penalty corners.
Junior keeper Sierra Smizer registered a career-high 25 saves, including 13 in the opening half. It's her third game of the season with 10 plus saves and her effort was 10 saves better than her previous career-best.
Junior Logan Gladden registered Frostburg's only shot in the ninth minute forcing a save from SU keeper Domanique Farrace.
Frostburg returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Hood at 4:30 pm.
