FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg junior Logan Gladden scored in the 20^th minute but it wasn't enough for the Bobcats as they dropped a 3-1 CAC matchup to St. Mary's, Sunday.
 
The Seahawks (6-5, 1-1) scored first when Courtney Mellon found the back of the cage off an assist from Gabrielle Corder at 17:57.
 
Just under two minutes later, Frostburg matched St. Mary's when Gladden knocked home a shot off an assist from senior Molly Pickard that evened the game at 1-1.
 
In the 33^rd minute, Frostburg was whistled for an infraction and the Seahawks were awarded a penalty corner. Meghan Ronan accepted a pass around the arc and fired a shot on net that got past Frostburg junior keeper Sierra Smizer. First-year Emy Nelson was there to clear the ball away for her fifth defensive save of the season.
 
In the second half, Bobcat sophomore Gabby Rachuba ripped a hard shot just 35 seconds into the frame that kicked wide of the net by keeper Kelbey Egerland.
 
Corder handed out her second assist of the afternoon in the 49^th minute, this time it was Emma Chandler that scored for a 2-1 lead.
 
Smizer turned away three-consecutive shots around the 50^th minute and St. Mary's Egerland saved a shot from first-year Taylor Hackett at 57:28.
 
The visitors added an insurance goal at 60:08 when Corder found the net off a feed from Meghan Ronan.
 
The Seahawks narrowly outshot Frostburg, 9-8, but all nine of the visitor's shots were on cage. Smizer finished with five saves in the loss.
 
FSU is back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Mary Washington at 4:00 pm.
