YORK, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's soccer team fell to the York College Spartans on Saturday in a 2-0 loss.

The Bobcats fell to the Spartans after putting up nine shots compared to the Spartans' 16. York's first goal came at 3:24 from Natalie McCarthy assisted by Caitlyn Findlay for a quick 1-0 lead.

Frostburg responded with three shots in the 21st minute but was unable to convert.Â

The Spartans found the goal again during the second half at 49:04 from Megan Stoltzfus assisted by Caitlin Rankin off a corner kick.

Frostburg responded with several more shots still unable to convert. Bobcat junior Brooke Shehade had a shot saved by York keeper Jess Wieber in the 52
nd minute. Wieber later saved a shot from first-year Mackenzie Folch at 70:20.
Bobcat senior goalkeeper Rihanna Lapen made a four saves on the day. Shehade lead the team with three shots while senior Melissa Krofcheck had two.

The Bobcats return to action on Oct. 24, at 6:00 pm against Penn State Harrisburg.
