FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Frostburg State women's soccer team endured a 3-0 setback at Mary Washington, Wednesday in CAC action.
The Eagles improved their record to 7-2-1 overall and 3-0 in the league following three goals inside the opening 23 minutes of action.
Abby Zimmerman scored at 4:29 for a 1-0 lead and Katie Rauch and Corinne Carson followed with goals at 15:31 and 22:39, respectively.
Mary Washington outshot Frostburg 18-8 and the Bobcats had two shots on goal. Bobcat first-year Mackenzie Folch had a shot turned away in the 72
nd minute, while senior Melissa Krofcheck had a shot saved in the 89
th minute.
FSU senior keeper Rhianna Lapen notched three saves in the loss.
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday when they host St. Mary's for senior day at 5:00 pm.
