FROSTBURG, Md. – Six different players scored for Frostburg State in a 6-0 shutout of Hood on Wednesday afternoon in non-league field hockey action.

The contest marks the second-consecutive game for the Bobcats that they have found the net six times. The win improves FSU's overall record to 3-4, while Hood falls to 2-5.
While six different players scored, senior Ivy Meissner and freshman Gabby Rachuba each found the net and handed out two assists. Junior Cara Morrell finished with one goal and one assist.
The Bobcats dominated the contest from start to finish, by outshooting the Blazers 44-0 with 33 shots on goal. Hood keeper Hailey Poisal put forth her best effort to keep Hood in the contest with 27 saves. FSU also had all 14 of the game's penalty corners.
Frostburg scored a pair of goals inside the first five minutes of action for a quick 2-0 lead.
Junior Holly Van Wie kicked things off when she found the net with a back-handed attempt off a pass from Meissner just 3:10 into action.
Freshman Sam Coffey added to the Frostburg goal total just a minute-and-half later when she knocked a ball into the right side of the net from Rachuba.
Rachuba scored Frostburg's third goal of the first half. She took a pass from Meissner, on the left side, maneuvered past a diving Poisal and slipped a shot into the net from a narrow angle near the backline.
The Bobcats had two good chances to add to their lead early in the second half. Morrell smacked a back handed shot off the left post and junior Molly Pickard gathered in the loose ball as it slowly rolled to right. However, Pickard's shot was kicked away by Poisal.
Morrell scored moments later in the 41
st minute. She knocked a shot on goal that was saved by Poisal, but Morrell collected the rebound and placed a shot through the legs of Poisal for a 4-0 Frostburg lead.
Senior Elizabeth Davis scored her first of the season in the in the 49
th minute. A shot from outside the circle was kicked away by Poisal and was collected by Rachuba, who found Davis for the goal.
Meissner scored Frostburg's sixth goal at 61:36. Frostburg was awarded a penalty corner following a Blazer infraction. Morrell took the corner and found Meissner at the top of the circle and she drilled a long shot by the keeper for a 6-0 advantage.
Bobcat keepers Nicole Leighty and Sierra Smizer each played a half in net, while Leighty was credited with the victory.
Frostburg travels to Bridgewater this Saturday at 2:00 pm.
