The Bobcats, facing their fourth ranked opponent in 13 games this spring, settle at 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the CAC despite a strong second-half surge.

Salisbury (14-0, 7-0) entered Saturday's matchup averaging 23.25 goals per game over its last four league contests, but the Frostburg defense limited the nation's third-best offense to just 16 goals and 44 shots.

The 19 victories for Horak are a career-best, while the 10 ground balls match a season-high.

Frostburg's nine goals on the afternoon are the second most allowed by the Sea Gulls this season as SU entered the matchup with the country's third-stingiest defense at 5.54 goals per game.

Junior Adam Gross paced the Frostburg attack with four goals and one assist, while classmate Keegan Colegrove found the net three times. Senior Chase Cullison finished with one goal and one assist, while freshman Jimmy Lucas scored once.

Gross scored twice in a 46-second span early in the first quarter as the Bobcats opened up a quick 2-1 lead on the Sea Gulls after Nick Garbarino scored just 56 seconds into action.

SU answered by collecting a 5-0 scoring run that closed out the first quarter with 6-2 lead. Adam Huber scored two goals during the outburst for the visitors.

Colegrove opened the second quarter with his first goal of the afternoon that cut the Bobcat deficit to 6-3.

Salisbury again answered with four-straight goals as Garbarino closed the run at 8:40 for a 10-3 SU lead.

Gross found the net at 6:38 for Frostburg's final goal of the first half and an 11-5 halftime deficit.

After Salisbury opened with the first two goals of the third quarter, Frostburg scored four straight over the third and fourth quarter that narrowed the score to 13-8.

Cullison found Colegrove for a goal with 2:35 to play in the third and Lucas closed the third with an unassisted tally at 1:31. Gross found Cullison for a score to open the fourth quarter (14:14) and Gross scored at 10:35 for a 13-8 score.
