Men’s Lacrosse Collects Home Victory

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State scored eight-consecutive goals over the better part of three quarters to earn a 10-5 win over McDaniel, Wednesday night.
 
The Bobcats pushed their record to 3-2 overall with their first home win of the spring campaign.
 
Junior Keegan Colegrove scored three goals and handed out one assist and freshman Jimmy Lucas finished with two goals and one assist.
 
They each scored during the 8-0 run that started with 8:20 left in the second quarter and lasted until 31 seconds were on the fourth quarter clock.
 
Freshman Jake Bowling started with a goal at 8:20 in the second and classmate Jake Howarth scored with 5:43 showing in the first half to give the hosts a 5-3 edge at intermission.
 
Colegrove opened the third quarter with second goal of the game at 10:15 and he later found Lucas for a tally at 5:48. The two third-quarter scores gave the Bobcats a 6-3 advantage after three.
 
The final stanza saw six total goals, four from Frostburg for the 10-5 final score.
 
Colegrove opened the fourth with his third and final goal at 13:00, while freshman Quinn Westen, junior Adam Gross and freshman Jimmy Wagner each found the net following Colegrove. Wagner's score was Frostburg's final goal and handed it a 10-3 lead with 4:09 to play.
 
Carson Marshall scored back-to-back goals inside the final minute to pull the Green Terror (3-2) within five at the final horn.
 
Freshman Jack Marks picked up the victory in net, needing just four saves in 56:12. Ben Heinzman played the final 3:48 and notched one save. Senior Kyle Horak paced the team with eight ground balls and finished 9-of-16 on face offs.
 
The Bobcats return to action on Saturday when they travel to Cabrini at 1:00 pm.
