ARLINGTON, Va. – The Frostburg State baseball team dropped a 7-3 decision to Marymount (Va.) in Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) play Wednesday afternoon.
 
Frostburg (9-9, 2-4) scored three runs on seven hits, while Marymount (7-10, 1-3) notched seven runs on nine hits.
 
Senior Cody Harman, sophomore Mike Centrella, freshman Jesse Lee and juniors Matt Bougourd, Logan Corrigan and Greg Schneider all finished with one hit for the Bobcats.
 
The Bobcats fell behind 6-0 but tallied a run in the sixth inning. Harman scored Schneider on a groundout to short, cutting the Bobcat deficit to 6-1.
 
Marymount (Va.) added a run in the bottom of the eighth and Frostburg responded with the final two runs of the afternoon in the next inning. Corrigan and senior Brad Garrant each plated a run in the top of the ninth to make the score 7-3.
 
The Bobcats threw seven pitchers on the afternoon and junior Dan Ryczek (0-1) was tagged with the loss after allowing two earned runs on two hits in two innings pitched. Junior Tyler Hoffman struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning.
 
Saints right-hander Collin Bazemore tossed a complete game, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with 12 strikeouts.
 
Frostburg will open the home portion of its schedule this Saturday, March 25, against Penn State Harrisburg. First pitch for the CAC doubleheader is slated for noon.
