FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg scored 13 goals in the first half and had its game on cruise control in the second en route to a 20-6 victory over Washington & Jefferson, Wednesday.
The Bobcats evened their record at 2-2 overall as 12 different players registered a point on the evening.
Freshman Nikki Hallikas led the attack with five goals, while Morgan Cavey added two goals and four assists.
Four of Hallikas' goals came in the first half and the hosts closed out the opening stanza with nine-straight goals to lead by 11, 13-2, at the break.
Hallikas scored again to open the second half that started a three-goal run for Frostburg as it led 16-2 with 22:32 to play. Freshman Autumn Lippy and junior Samantha Cataldo scored the final two goals for the Bobcats on the evening.
FSU finished a perfect 14-of-14 on clear attempts and limited the Presidents (0-1) to just 8-of-17. Frostburg held a narrow 14-13 lead in draw controls, but caused 10 of W&J's 21 turnovers.
Senior Dylan Teitelbaum needed to stop just two shots for the win. Senior Molly Hart contributed two goals, three assists and tied Cavey for a team-high three draw controls. Molly Hart also scored the final two goals of the opening half.
For Washington & Jefferson, Monica Ewansik, Caroline Kallos and Rae LaRochelle each scored two goals.
The Bobcats travel to Bridgewater on Saturday for a contest at 1:00 pm.
