FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Frostburg baseball team racked up 16 hits in a dominating 21-3 win over Penn State Abington in Fayetteville, Friday.
 
The Bobcats (2-2) fell behind 1-0 after the first inning, but rebounded in a big way with seven runs in the second and nine more in the third for an early 16-1 advantage.
 
Frostburg never looked back and later tacked on single runs in the fourth and sixth and added three in the fifth. The Bobcats racked up 16 hits and drove in 15 RBI on the day. 

Juniors Colton Sivic and Kyle Burger each hit their first career home runs in a Bobcat uniform, and the tandem combined for four hits and seven RBI. Sivic's three-run home run came in the bottom of the third to put the Bobcats up 15-1, while Burger belted his two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to make the score 19-3.

Junior Matt Bougourd had three hits and an RBI while juniors Greg Schneider and Matt Jeffery had two RBI each.  

Frostburg had a big day at the plate, but also got some nice performances on the mound. Junior Garrett Wiles picked up his first win of the spring after tossing a 5.0 inning, three strikeout gem. Wiles allowed just two earned runs on the day and pitched three scoreless frames. Junior Daniel Richardson, sophomore Blake Clift and seniors Connor Gorman and Ryan Callahan each pitched one scoreless inning in relief. 
 
Frostburg will return to the field tomorrow afternoon to face Rutgers-Newark at 4:00 p.m. in Fayetteville, N.C.
