FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State volleyball team used a balanced offensive attack in a 3-0 sweep of Penn State Altoona Thursday night at Bobcat Arena.

Frostburg (13-7, 1-1) was dominant on all fronts, limiting Penn State Altoona (9-9, 5-0) to a negative hitting percentage in all three sets. Frostburg claimed its seventh sweep of the season with set wins of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-15.
Sophomore middle hitter Biamba Tshitenge led the way offensively with a game-high 10 kills. Tshitenge has recorded double-digit kills in five games this season, including her last two.
Senior Sabrina Roberts added seven kills, while senior Jessica Bugtong notched six and senior Zoe Harris had four.
Senior Madelyn Torres handed out a game-high 21 assists while sophomore Cori Smothers recorded a game-high 19 digs. Freshman Gianna Carmona smacked four kills and posted a career-high seven blocks.
Frostburg overpowered the Lions in all three sets but had to rally from an early deficit to secure the sweep.
The Bobcats scored 10-straight in the first set to take a 12-4 lead. Senior Karli Grimes notched three kills during the Bobcats scoring run.
Frostburg jumped out to a 6-2 edge in the second set. A kill from Roberts put the Bobcats up 17-13 and Tshitenge's kill made the score 24-18.
After trailing 4-2 in the third and final set, the Bobcats rolled to take a 14-7 lead. The Bobcats scored the final five points of the set to secure the 25-15 set and match victory.
Frostburg is back on the court this Saturday for a key Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) matchup with Southern Virginia at 2:00 p.m.
