FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State field hockey team dropped a CAC matchup with Wesley in overtime on Sunday on senior day.

Kaila Hindt collected her own saved shot and slipped the second attempt into the corner of the net to lift the Wolverines (5-12, 1-4) to their first league win.
Wesley turned up the pressure in the extra frame attempting all seven shots after the two teams had exactly 16 shots apiece during regulation. WC was also awarded five penalty corners in OT.
Hindt led both teams with 14 shots, including 13 on goal. Bobcat senior keeper Nicole Leighty registered 16 saves, tying her second-best effort of the season.
Leighty opened OT with back-to-back saves and later kicked away an attempt from Lindt at 81:28. However, Lindt collected her own rebounded shot and connected for the game's only goal at 81:28.
Leighty opened the second half like she did overtime as she saved three shots over the first six minutes of action. Senior defender Liz Davis also got in on the action as she registered her first defensive save of the season as she cleared a shot away from the backline at 35:51.
Leighty finished the second stanza with nine of her 16 saves to keep the Wolverines off the board.
Frostburg grabbed the momentum in the first half as it held a 12-4 advantage in shots over the visiting Wolverines.
Junior Holly Van Wie had a shot get past Wesley keeper Sidney Knott in the fifth minute that forced defender Natalie Quigley to clear the ball away.
The Bobcats later peppered Knott with three shots around the 19
th minute and the hosts attempted back-to-back shots starting at 26:31. Knott finished the flurry with five saves.
Eight different Bobcats had a shot on goal in the loss, while Van Wie led the way with three. Senior Ivy Meissner was second on the roster with two shots on goal.
Frostburg returns to the field on Tuesday when it hosts Wilson at 6:00 pm.
